Seattle, WA Eats

Lots of decent places, not enough game-changers.

So here are my Seattle finds that I have come across so far:

Anchorhead Coffee

Do not just come here for the coffee but come for the quaffle! Your taste buds will be surprised and wondered why no one has created something like this before.

Analog Coffee

Smooth and you can tell it's their focus.

Di Fiora

This Thai fusion place has become stable and a go-to for special occasions. Would recommend the crispy garlic chicken and Malaysian coconut soup.

Din Tai Fung

I've been to their Sydney, Singapore and Shanghai chains and it is pretty consistent worldwide. My go-to is the shrimp & kurobuta pork wontons with spicy sauce! Not recommended for people who are not experienced with chilli.

Fat's Chicken & Waffles

I keep coming back to this place! A little tad out of the way but probably a good thing, otherwise I would be here on a weekly basis. The chicken is fried well and moist and grab yourself a side of fries.

General Porpoise or Top Pot for your doughnuts

Vanilla custard at the general or glazed doughnut, maple bar at Top Pot.

Manao Thai Street Eats

A surprise find! I was craving Boat Noodle Soup and after a quick Google search, this place made it to my list. Other good choices are the Pad See Ew beef and crying tiger.

mBar

For the views and drinks during summer, not so much for the food. Though the food is decent - don't be in a rush to spend your paycheck here.

Momosan Ramen & Sake

Recently new to Seattle, such a spot that I actually spotted Jeff Bezos eating there as well. Plenty of space, decently priced and impressed by the presentation. I’d probably skip the Wagyu beef here, and have it at Tamari Bar instead. Go to the ramen to warm up.

Seattle Fish Guys

Buy the sashimi in bulk to make poke at home, try their unagi or their poke bowls to enjoy there. No matter what, you will win.

Tamari Bar

Japanese tapas with high ceilings and great presentation. Wagyu beef is pretty close to a game-changer for me!

The Cheesecake Factory

I know what you thinking, it's a chain. So I come here for 3 things the mac and cheese deep-fried balls, the Diane steak and the cheesecake. I haven't even bothered with the rest of the menu.
(Update: Try the truffle honey chicken!)

The Fried Chicken in City Market (Capitol Hill)

Yes, odd place. In my opinion, this fried chicken is better than Washington's very own Ezelle's, yeah I said it. It also tastes better the next day reheated in the oven.

Vinason Pho & Grill

Order online and pick up! It’s on the expensive side for Vietnamese food but cheap for SLU.

Here is my list of food places that also deserve a mention:
