Vancouver, BC Eats

YVR you just get it right when it comes to quality but the price tag is another story.

Many great food places you can just find downtown and lines are expected.

Acorn
A little out of the way but they really do make vegetarian meals exciting. 

Bao Bei
Go for the beef tartare and tofu. Expect lines and a little on the expensive side.

Baodown + gastropub
Another one a little out of the way but cute bar, eats and overall enjoyable.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ
Meats are addictive and be prepared to smell.

Homer St Cafe
Maple pork belly. Enough said.

Meat & Bread
Comfort food on a cold day.

Miku
Probably the most expensive Japanese food I have ever eaten and not for nothing, they have won awards for a reason. Fresh, presentation and water views. It is pretty damn close to the quality I've had in Japan.

Mott32
The most expensive and also the best dumplings I have ever had in my life. We talking about $5 per dumpling!

Kissa Tanto
Book in advance or wing it and line up 30mins before they open. The demand is high and because it’s Vancouver except a pricey check at the end.

Phenom Phen
Butter beef and the chicken wings. If you do not want to wait, do take out!

Pokeritto (any poke place)
Most poke places in Vancouver have been pretty amazing so far. I do not recall coming across a place that wasn't good. The poke guy and the poke shop are up there too.

Small Victory
Never in my life, I was willing to deal with a little skin break out for food. But the croissants here are so crispy and buttery. If you can get it fresh out the oven, your day will be made.

Tacofino
The cauliflower burrito. Amazing option for those day you do not want meat.

The Flying Pig
Even though this is a chain restaurant, one of the best mac and cheese I've laid eyes on.

A little over-hyped and avoid if possible:

Earls Kitchen + Bar - Found some of the dishes a little too salty or average. Though I do appreciate the interior design.
Medina - You might always see a line at this place and I'm not sure why. Given this place 2 tries now, in my opinion, the only thing worth going for is waffles but get it to go.
