Home Styling

We relocated from Sydney, Australia to Vancouver, Canada and now living in Seattle, USA. We left so many things due to size and cost and what I loved about buying everything from scratch was the variety in North America.

The apartment: Old building, blank walls, wooden floors with a touch of a farmhouse vibe.
The colours: Metallic (copper, gold & silver), marble, white and grey.
The look: It’s a mixture of modern, industrial, mid-century and farmhouse - all shown through different pieces.

The stores:

Amazon - USA
With no car in Seattle, Amazon was a big help for the large items. Purchased the microwave, kettle, kitchen cart, dining and study tables, chairs, lamps, clothes hangers and a garment rack. Even bulk buying consumables was a big help.

Apolis Global
Customised tote bag.

Crate & Barrell/CB2 - USA
Purchased the Mercer and Logan plate range, stacking bowls, copper mug, rolling pin, artificial plants, gold bowl, pyramid decor and sauce bowls.

HomeSense/Winners - Canada | TJ Maxx - USA
The love/hate relationship I have with this store - if you don't grab it at that time, it will most likely not be there tomorrow. Purchased copper cooking utensils, mixing bowls, gold cutlery, old 2-tier server, marble spice holder, bin, tablecloth, canister and artificial plants. I was visiting these stores at least twice a week to see if they had anything new I could add to the collection.

Macy's - USA
Purchased the Belgique copper pots and pans. It covers all your basic needs, the only additional pans that I purchased to complete the set was a crepe pan and a larger stock pot for bulk cooking.
Also purchased from Macy’s the Martha Stewart mixing bowls/fruit basket, ThirstyStone measuring cups/spoons/cheese knives, Hotel Collection 2-tier marble server and hammered storage containers. Note: Purchased at 40-60% off full retail price, so most things felt like a steal.
